Wales out to end losing streak
Wales will be desperately hoping to arrest a run of 11 successive defeats at the hands of the Springboks when the two sides collide in Cardiff on Saturday.
The Welsh have a dismal record against the South Africans, having registered just one victory from their 24 previous meetings, with 22 games going the way of the Boks and the other game drawn.
Wales' solitary win came in a game which marked the official opening of the Millennium Stadium, with tries from Mark Taylor and Gareth Thomas, and 19 points from the boot of Neil Jenkins, helping Wales to an impressive 29-19 victory.
Since that historic day in Cardiff, Wales have known nothing but heartbreak and misery in their clashes with the Springboks. Their most recent meeting was particularly demoralising, with Wales frittering away an early 16-3 lead against an under-strength South African side before launching a spirited late fightback only to come out wrong end of a 34-31 scoreline.
