Aviva Premiership - Exeter, 20 November 2010, 15:00 GMT, 15:00 Local

http://rugbyworldcuplive2011.blogspot.com/

Prediction:
Exeter continue to catch the eye this season and would like nothing more than to underline their Premiership credentials by exacting some revenge on their old rivals for some recent defeats in English rugby's second tier. The Leeds formbook does not make such pleasant reading and the outlook is set to be even worse come Saturday night.

Exeter Chiefs - Player to Watch: New Kiwi recruit Jason Shoemark is named on the bench but is set to make his Premiership bow having joined the club earlier this month. He brings Super Rugby and provincial rugby clout to an Exeter side already boasting plenty of ambition.

Exeter Chiefs - Team News: Exeter make four changes to the side that drew with Cardiff Blues in the Anglo-Welsh Cup last time out. Centre Bryan Rennie, winger Andrew Higgins, flanker James Scaysbrook and prop Chris Budgen all return. On the bench Chad Slade is also back as he was not picked by Samoa for their international against England at Twickenham.

Leeds Carnegie - Player to Watch: Ceiron Thomas returns to the Leeds No.10 shirt and the visitors' hopes of breaking their duck will rely on his form with the boot and his ability to stretch the home side with ball in hand.

Leeds Carnegie - Team News: The Leeds side boasts six players who featured in their last victory over Exeter back in 2008. In the backs Scott Mathie and Scott Barrow return while Tom Denton and Rhys Oakley will be on familiar ground in the forwards. Finally, Danny Paul and Leigh Hinton are on the bench.

Prediction: The Wallabies may be reeling from back-to-back defeats but they still boast too much class for an Italian side that has plenty of forward grunt but lacks the backline flair to pose a real threat.

Trivia: Wallabies playmaker Cooper will have fond memories of playing Italy, having scored his first Test try on debut against the Azzurri in 2008.

Italy - Player to Watch: Italy boss Nick Mallett has handed a surprise debut to 20-year-old scrum-half Edoardo Gori, who will be hoping his pack have one of their better days at the office to ensure he has time to think.

Italy - Team News: Debutant Gori starts in tandem with Brive fly-half Luciano Orquera following an injury to Australian-born playmaker Craig Gower while Alberto Sgarbi is called into the midfield. Hooker Fabio Ongaro also replaces Leonardo Ghiraldini, Andrea Lo Cicero is in at loose-head for Salvatore Perugini and flanker Paul Derbyshire is named in the back-row ahead of Roberto Barbieri.

Australia - Player to Watch: Fly-half Quade Cooper was singled out for criticism in the wake of the loss to England and was uncharacteristically quiet at Twickenham. Expect him to explode back into life in Florence.

Australia - Team News: Matt Giteau and Benn Robinson have been axed with midweek skipper Berrick Barnes drafted in at No.12 and promising Reds prop James Slipper taking over Robinson's loose-head berth. Brumbies lock Mark Chisholm drops out of the starting XV in favour of Reds youngster Rob Simmons, who is set to make his full debut. Scrum-half Will Genia also misses out due to a rib injury, meaning that Luke Burgess partners Cooper at halfback. Lachie Turner starts on the wing after James O'Connor returned to Australia to attend a funeral.

Prediction: In delivering such an emphatic victory against Australia, England ensured that expectation levels rocketed on a similar trajectory to their form. But even if they were to fall short of the benchmark set against the Wallabies they should have too much class for a Samoa side starved of top class opposition.

Matt Banahan,Shontayne Hape vs George Pisi,Seilala Mapusua

England - Player to Watch: England scrum-half Ben Youngs was the tormentor-in-chief against the Wallabies last time out - can he reproduce another game-defining performance against the Islanders?

England - Team News: England have made four changes to the side that beat Australia with Bath's Matt Banahan coming in at No.13 instead of Mike Tindall and Leeds openside Hendre Fourie granted his first Test start in place of regular captain Lewis Moody who is rested. Elsewhere, Stade Francais flanker James Haskell comes in for Tom Croft on the blindside flank and Bath's David Wilson packs down at tight-head instead of Dan Cole.

Samoa - Player to Watch: Winger Alesana Tuilagi was sent off on his last international appearance at Twickenham in 2005 but is unlikely to be daunted by a return to England's HQ or the opposition due to his familiarity with both thanks to his Leicester Tigers connections.

Samoa - Team News: Samoa have opted against making any changes to the XV that were beaten by Ireland. As a result they boast seven English-based players in Paul Williams (Sale Sharks), David Lemi, Sakaria Taulafo (London Wasps), Seilala Mapusua, George Stowers (London Irish), Alesana Tuilagi (Leicester Tigers) and Filipo Levi (Newcastle Falcons), with Exeter Chiefs scrum-half Junior Poluleuligaga on the bench. Hooker Mahonri Schwalger retains captaincy.

The England national rugby union team represents England in rugby union. They compete in the annual Six Nations Championship with France, Ireland, Scotland, Italy, and Wales. They have won this championship on 25 occasions, 12 times winning the Grand Slam, making them the most successful team in the tournaments history. England also compete for the Calcutta Cup with Scotland as part of the Six Nations. They are ranked fifth in the world by the International Rugby Board as of 8 November 2010. England won the Rugby World Cup in 2003 and finished runners-up in 1991 and 2007.

The Samoa national rugby union team is the representative side of Samoa in international rugby union. In Samoa, they are often called Manu Samoa, in honour of a famous Samoan warrior, and from 1924 to 1997 competed as Western Samoa. They perform a traditional Samoan challenge called the siva tau before each game. They were formerly members of the Pacific Islands Rugby Alliance (PIRA) along with Fiji and Tonga.[2] They are ranked 12th in the world. They have recently been bankrolled by millionaire Sir Michael Fay, one of New Zealand’s wealthiest men.

Joe Ansbro,Graeme Morrison vs Frans Steyn,Jean de Villiers

South Africa - Team News: Mvovo slots into a side showing a number of changes. Gio Aplon shifts to the wing in place of Basson and Zane Kirchner wins a recall at fullback as a result. Francois Hougaard is back in action at scrum-half and Sharks back-rower Ryan Kankowski takes over from Pierre Spies at No.8.

Scotland - Team News: Robinson has made five changes to his side, with Hines one of them. Gloucester scrum-half Rory Lawson is recalled in place of the injured Mike Blair and takes the captaincy while Nikki Walker returns on the wing and Gloucester's Jim Hamilton misses out to the recalled Scott McLeod in the second-row. Northampton centre Joe Ansbro wins his first cap after being called up to cover the injured Max Evans.

Prediction: The Sonny Bill Williams experiment may have been put on the back burner but this All Blacks side remain a devastating proposition even without the rising star of New Zealand rugby. It is a special fixture for McCaw and Muliaina and we can expect their team-mates to honour their achievement with another powerful display. History and form are stacked against the hosts who may be grateful if fans opt to stay away this week.
